The sari has been there since the very start, but until now still has a commanding presence on recent fashion styles and trends. Sari is a simple, unassuming piece of rectangular cloth that can be wrapped around the body in a variety of ways. Indian saris are made from different fabrics, among them silk, cotton, crape, and Georgette, among others. They can be adorned and embellished with mirrors, embroidery, patchwork, pearls, and sequins. Some of the most popular saris are Kenjeevaram, hakoba, handloom, patola, phulkari, and chanderi.

Salwar Kameez is another type of clothing that has consistently been worn by women from different generations. It originated in the cities of Kashmir and Punjab, but the attire quickly spread to other parts of the country.

Indian attire is made beautiful by how it is worn, as well as the designs, patterns, and colors that were incorporated into the attire. Men’s fashion in India has been as healthy as women’s fashion. Men’s wear have also started incorporating batik, tie-dye, and block prints into the traditional suit, making men look just as fashionable and fashion-conscious as women.
